Belt Filters

Beltfilters

Beltfilters are in use for various applications, they cover a different range of filtration than drumfilters, as they are the chosen technology at high concentrations of dirt. Their unique features are a robust belt, which moves on rollers at the bottom and top, in the first part water is filtered and filtered matter is slowly moved up the belt, drained by gravity. At the top dirt is scraped off the belt and  backwashed, cloth is then moved back into the filtration process on the endless belt.

Typical applications are:

  • Draining of backwash water from Hex drumfilters in RAS.
  • Fishprocessing industry, typical blodwater.
  • Microalgae harvest.
  • On well boats and barges for sealice concentration of flushing water from sealice filters.

Below: installation of 3 filters in parallel for concentration of sludge from RAS, polymers and sometimes coagulant are in use for flocculation of the sludge, forming large particles which easily can be drained, typical up to 10-12 % dry matter content.
